Grounded in Science. Rooted in Relationship.
Choosing a therapist is a deeply personal decision. You aren’t just looking for a set of tools; you’re looking for a person who ‘gets it’. My practice is built on a foundation of academic psychology and deep clinical training, delivered through a warm, human-to-human lens. I use warmth, empathy and humour to connect our relationship with your experiences. I will be a real person in the room with you, not a blank wall.
With an MSc in Psychology, I bring a robust understanding of human behavior and mental processes to our work. However, I believe that data and theory only go so far—healing happens when we feel truly seen and safe.
To support this, I work through three core pillars:
A Relational Connection
I don’t sit back as a distant observer. This is a collaboration. I believe that the relationship we build together is the most powerful tool for healing. I am an active, empathetic participant in our sessions, providing a ‘relational home’ where you can experiment with new ways of being and connecting while feeling safe and seen.
An Integrative Perspective
Trained at Inter-Psyche, an NHS provider in the UK, I move beyond one-size-fits-all models to offer a truly integrative approach. By blending Psychodynamic insight with Humanistic warmth, I tailor our sessions to your unique history and goals. We can work practically on the ‘here and now’ to develop coping mechanisms for unwanted behaviors, while simultaneously going deeper to explore the roots and origins of those patterns.
A Trauma-Informed Foundation
Safety is the prerequisite for change. Being trauma-informed means I prioritize your nervous system’s sense of security above all else. We work at a pace that respects your boundaries, ensuring you always feel in control of the process. We don’t just talk about the mind; we respect the wisdom and safety of the body.
By unlearning these rigid, often invisible expectations, we can begin to rebuild a life that feels honest, equal, and truly yours.
A Socially Conscious Approach
It’s important to me that my work reflects my personal values and the principles I’m passionate about; my practice is therefore built on a foundation of empowerment and equality, questioning systemic expectations that affect us all, regardless of gender. I believe that therapy shouldn’t just help us cope with the world; it should encourage us to question the systems that make us feel inadequate in the first place and ask if they are still valid, relevant, or work within the context of our lives and families.
In our work together, I invite you to shift the focus away from dominant cultural scripts that have long dictated how we should act, work, and care for others. We will gently:
Question Patriarchal Norms: Challenging the expectations placed on us all, regardless of gender, and making space for your authentic self. We consider the mental load and norms placed on women to perform dutifully.
Deconstruct Toxic Masculinity: Looking at how traditionally damaging roles and stoic expectations impact our relationships and can prevent men from accessing their full emotional range.
Ensure Representation: Creating a space where your unique identity is respected, and the systemic pressures you face are identified and acknowledged as real.
Reclaim Authenticity: By questioning the social structures that demand we be constantly productive or ‘perfect’ at the expense of our health, we make room for a more balanced, empowered way of living.
